Scraps of cats

This is a story of pair of scraps of cats, named Pixi and Smooches.
They began life as all cats do. But very early in their young lives, someone thought it would be a good idea to dump the young kittens on a farm in MA. Along the way, they contracted several varieties of worms, lice, fleas and ear mites. Kragore's sister was able to catch the little scraps and saved them untold dangers of a working farm (not to mention predators).

A plan was hatched, dubbed "Operation Kitten Underground Railroad" to transport the smallest girl scrap across state lines to her new home in PA. And after bouncing around to a couple of different homes, the smallest boy scrap found a home with Kragore's mom. Both little scraps were loved and cured of all the maladies that had plagued them in the early weeks of their lives.
Time passed and the scraps grew from kitten to cat. But both continued to be scraps of cats. Looking at them, you would think they were still kittens. The early maladies took their toll on their size. Pixi is the size of an 7-8 month old and Smooches was not much bigger. We are fond of saying, that while they are small, they are mighty.

Yesterday, Pixi's brother Smooches had to be put down due to a untreatable fungal infection. It is a heartbreaking end to story with a heartbreaking breaking beginning. I think the middle bits were pretty good. I can only imagine the hole in her heart at loosing Smooches.

I am very glad that both scraps were given the opportunity to be normal, pampered and well loved.

Snuggle your Pixi - They are very special little scraps, even if one now hunts ghost mice the blueberry patch behind the house.
