12th night

12th night was awesome. I got to play Heraldic Scavenger hunt, run around for 3 hours, pretend to be an extrovert for the day, meet a bunch of people in/out of kingdom and ask them about their heraldry.  Oddles of fun.  Want to try a fun experiment?  Try to look for a OTC in a sea of pretty looking knights. And then watch them try to help you find one of their squires, who hopefully is wearing his medallion.  Or better yet, watch them offer to do the chivalry thing and go get their armor from the car.  It was also interesting to see who had to title drop and who was 'just so and so'.

Best part of the day, I got to be 'just Alesone', not a kingdom officer, not baronial anything, not event worker.  I worked on hanging out, making coffee cartridges and the cloak (during court).  And there was port and lambic and mead and more port. Court was fun, though I think we were too far in front for as much fun as we were having. 

Saxon dress was a hit and I got the head dress to lay properly. It was easy to move around in, but stairs were challenging.  It is a lot of fabric.

Today will be filled with naps, cutting and sewing and changing over officer pages.

I think I have proven that I am incapable of sitting for an entire day. And I think the Heraldry table scared me a little. There were Heralds and people and you guys were really busy. But I think it is safe to say that I learned something.

And there were no 2 pelicans that were the same (well outside of medallions). That was pretty cool.
