Medieval Cake

Any one out there have a recipe for cake? I have one from Markham's "The English Hus-wife" that could work, but I am looking for suggestions.  Anyone on the German, French or Flemish front? I would be looking to use this as a subtlety base.

Nope I only have a few recipes from it. Though I will probably get a copy. When I do, you can look.
