Weekend progress
Nov. 27th, 2010 11:40 pmI think I am turning into a spice snob. I have fallen in love with cubebs (tailed pepper). They have a nice sharp bite, different than regular peppercorns. They are wonderful and delightful and absolutely unexpected. Long peppers are also wondrous. They are sweeter, less bite, but they have a very rich flavor profile (thanks
math5 ).
Sweet potatoes are par cooked and chilling in the freezer for Yule. They have cinnamon, mace, salt and a combo of cubeb and long pepper. I don't like sweet potatoes, but I would eat these.
Applique has been applied to the new Bhakail A & S Champion's 1/2 cloak (something sized for girls). I will have a week or so to let it hang before finishing the closing seam. And then it time to hand it off the new champion at Yule.
Sugar is hard and ready for sanding. This year we are doing a sugar medallion based upon the menu scroll.
Embroidery project has been inked. Yay, so exciting.
