Epic scooter fail 1 & 2

Epic scooter fail #1: Friday (my birthday). Click, click, click goes the scooter through the parking lot. By the time we get to the top of the monorail at Magic Kingdom, Scooter loses the right wheel (when I mean lose, i mean, the ball bearings self destructed and i can see daylight through the bearing housing). Lady at the monorail leaves me there with no offers to help or do anything. Hop down the monorail ramp of doom, while The Boy goes to find a wheelchair. Nice nurse, gets me the number for 3 medical supply places. Place #2 can fix my scooter, if we get there before 4. 2 hours later and we are back in business.

Near epic scooter fail: Sunday am. Scooter has loose bolts. We make a trip to walmart, buy a hex wrench, and we are back in business.

Epic scooter fail #2: Monday. Click, click, click goes the scooter through the Magic Kingdom. Uh oh, I know what that sound means. Look at the scooter. Nothing. Click, click, click. Yup, Scooter loses the left wheel (when I mean lose, i mean, the ball bearings self destructed and i can see daylight through the bearing housing). Guy at Pirates gets help, keeps me and The Boy calm, and gets us a wheelchair. Tomorrow, its back to scooter hospital for emergency repairs.

I think my scooter hates the Magic Kingdom.

Eeep, no fun. Hope the rest of your trip goes, er, smoother... Self-destructing scooter bearings are no fun at all!

I hope that scooter is under warranty... Granted, have definitely put it through its paces, but as an assistance device I would expect it to hold up a lot better. :(

I am, however, picturing various "spare" wheels you could add from Disney... such as a wagon wheel, a water wheel, train wheel, etc... something from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...
Could be fun!

Unfortunately, the warranty doesn't include self destructing bearings. Ah well.
