My thoughts turn to waffles
I want to do some open fire cooking at war this year. I am looking at getting a waffle iron like this one. Question is, how exactly does it get used? I am gathering there is some sort of rest or such that is used in conjunction with the iron?
Help please and thank you.

Hold over coals, turn. It's fiddly, not hard. I use a turning fork to peel the waffles out, they can stick.
Cabelas has a few sizes.

We had folks in the camp next to us when I lived in the bog who owned a camping waffle iron and a stand to hold it over the camp stove.
[oh, wait, my biggest loser contest runs 'til Sep 1. No Pennsic waffles for me. :( Waffles later.]

Bacon later too. I'm adding to my list of things I will indulge in after the contest is over :)
