It's the 2 day count down to the next round of x-rays and pin removal. And then... hopefully, a walking cast.

I've been a little wigged out about the thought of the pin removal.  But apparently, there aren't any nerves in the bone, so removal feels weird, but doesn't hurt.  As long as the pins aren't bent (which mine aren't, at this point in time).  So I did what anyone who was interested in what this procedure is going to look like and went to the You-tubes. All of the videos I watched, the 3 pins were removed in less than 40 seconds.  Under a minute.  I can handle that.  The 2 screws will remain permanent guests.

I am, at the moment, completely off any pain medications with the exception of advil. This means that I am no longer on any of the auxiliary drugs either. WOOOOOO!  Today has been day 2 of being free of the effects of narcotics and other drug interactions.

2 more days.

I still think bringing chocolate to the removal is still an excellent plan.

Pin removal - not such a biggie. A lot like the sensations you feel when you're had something numbed with lidocaine, but can still detect pressure.

BTW - I sat and watched the Penquins of Madagascar special with their enemy Dr. Blowhole the other night. He was creating a lobster with one metal claw, that he dubbed "Chrome Claw" - and I thought of you. ;-)
