Project updates

I have been working on buttons while awaiting the piping decision.  I have also been working on other garmenty type things.  I have completed the coif (non embroidered), 1 and 1/2 sleeve embroidery and a proper shift is in progress.  More fabric has been ordered for HRH practice jacket. The embroidery has been started on the coif.  However I think I am going to wait to work on this project until after Birka ( I am going to look at silk thread).

Yes you do. I have some sacrificial t-shirts for just this purpose.

I like the white linen plain coif. I'd ask for the pattern, but I think it's not quite deep enough for my hair. Even spun down firmly into a bun - it's a mop.

That's the nice thing about the pattern, is you can adjust it. ;-) I happen to have a very small head.

It is actually a pretty simple pattern. I could try to scale it up for you, if you are interested.

When you have some free time, that would be fab.

No need to be in a huge hurry about it, as I'm unlikely to get to it until after RUM, anyway.

Still, it would save me the trial-and-error phase of patterning. Which would be nice.

You might find this article, about a way to wear a coif, useful. Before I cut off all my hair, I was experimenting with it, and it surely seemed that having MORE hair would have made it even easier!
