I am working on the beading for the bodice panel which will match my detachable sleeves for the purple gown. This is a nice time consuming project, which hopefully will be completed in time for KWAR/KWCS.

question... Meg and I are going to do the quick and dirty Duct tape/t-shirt fitted bodice pattern. Do you prefer lacing in the back or front? Also, should I cut the pattern for under arm panels for a closer fit or just make it two pieces?

Depends on the class you want to portray. Lower class/working class should be front tie. Middle can go either way, upper class should be in the back.I like to do panels for a better fit.

Most doublets for women I do are 7 pieces: 1 front, 2 front sides, 2 back sides, 2 back with lacing or 2 front with lacing ties, 2 front sides, 2 back sides, 1 back.

Thank you. I thought my shoulder would be a bit more mobile this weekend than it is post-op, so we won't be doing it until next weekend. I think I want it to lace in the back this time. I've done the front lacing style before and like the way it looks, but never tried the back lacing. Why not? Might be a good style for steampunk too if I do it right.
