It can't be that easy...

Dress pattern in what appears to be 6 parts, plus pleating. And I have 15 yards of burgundy velvet to play with.

You know...I can find you something MUCH easier to do... ;)

it really is that easy, and you may get three dresses out of that 15 yards too. Even easier when you add a waist seam and can cut those bodice pieces out of the off cuts!

See, I have a bit of trouble getting the pleating to fit nicely into the bodice.

I think in part because I don't have the figure those little sticks in the etchings usually do.

I've made dress, and it was pretty easy. I apparently did not transfer it to the new site, so when I get home, I'll put it up and send you the link.

I should probably make another one, it was super comfy and a great work dress. I've learned a ton since I made the first one, and my approach to construction would be a bit different.

I'd also be interested in your thoughts on this one. I've tried a few experiment - which have mostly worked better in my head than they have in practice. ;-)

I likey that dress. And I has velvet... and poly blend pretty stuff (did that hurt your brain?) Hm... may need to make this. :)

We can do that. You can't really dance in it though. ;)

LOL - sure... why would you be able to dance in it? Dance didn't happen back then. Only the nobles danced, or maybe it was only the peasantry. No no, big continental scandal - dance didn't REALLY happnen. They just wrote about it. ;)
