General update
Jun. 7th, 2011 05:38 pmFoot: I live. The drug cocktail sucks big rocks. I've moved out of the "foot on fire" phase to the "OMG everything is itchy" phase. I tire out rather quickly and naps are my bestest friend. I will be attempting going into work next week. This week is work from home and nap when needed. Stitches come out next week, but not the pins. Doc thinks that the pins might come out week 6. I laughed and said, week 8. We will see who's right. Boot for Pennsic, shoes for Riverwar.
Wedding: I've been able to get quite a bit of stuff planned. Holy crow, I'm in the wrong business. What they want to charge brides is outrageous to say the least. I'm trying to keep things on a tight budget, but I am drawing the line at making my own dress. Most of the 'helpful' advice is written for people without a lick of common sense. Either that, or people think that once you have a ring on your finger, you become a totally incompetent, raving lunatic.
SCA: I've been making headway on TRH website (taking a brake while I've been on the high dosage painkillers). Officers have finally started using the announcement section of the website. We are reworking the awards recommendation page and I've started the arduous task of updating the sorely outdated zip code database. It is amazing what you discover when people start actually using the pages that have always been part of the system, but they can now find. Next event for me will be EKWC at the end of June. I will be helping with Runny Meade dinner at Pennsic (Im the cook). I have a bunch of people helping and will plan it out to within an inch of its life. so my main job at Pennsic will be sitting on my butt, cutting things up and directing traffic.
Projects: I am limited to things I can do while sitting still. Sugar research is at the stage where I actually need to start building stuff. I think the armature stuff will be first. Armatures don't require me to work with ventilation, hotplates and potentially toxic chemicals. Embroidery project is in full swing and let me just say, I love, love, love working with silk. The gilt, well that is give or take. But it is coming out beautifully. I will post pictures later. Armor is on hold for several more weeks. Swelling needs to be more under control before I start sitting at my machine for several hours.
That about covers it.
