It was a good weekend.

The new class format worked well.  I think everyone had a good time actually working sugar paste.  Though we were a little rushed, so I will probably increase the time to 2 hours. And I had two of the most well behaved kids in the class.  And for as messy as sugar can be, we did pretty well keeping it under control.

I got some tips for working with the gold torsades. There was general hanging out with folks which was great fun. And dinner was tasty goodness with smoked meats. Mmmmm. Several folks were called into court and given good things. alphafemale1 is now a Maunche and Bob (who has an SCA name, I think, but I don't know 'cause he has never introduced himself as anything but 'just bob'), newest lord of the court.

I did fittings for a couple of people. I have a few arm sleeve adjustments to make.  But for the most part, I am mostly done with a couple of projects [happy dance]. Hopefully this week I will be finishing up armor projects for Lumineaux, Baron Larry and HRM Lucan. And then it's on to the rest of the stack of stuff.  May 27th will be here before I know it.Pictures of things as they get further to completion. I figure y'all know what shifts/chemises look like. ;-)

More linen has been ordered.  15 yards of white linen and I am down to just 1.5 yards. More silk thread and gold gilt are on the way. I have some more research projects on the horizon. I have started the prep work for the sugar armatures project and I want to do an article about the role of flavor enhancers in medieval cooking (yes, there's a story here...).  Crown this weekend, and then some time off.  Maybe I will go to the zoo, if the weather holds.
