Progress: Getting smaller
Aug. 1st, 2010 12:13 amThe list is shrinking. Or at least the list of "shit to start" is getting smaller and "the shit getting done" is getting bigger. The highlight of the day was getting to measure Miss Mina for some new garments (apparently girl children grow... go figure). Said girl child is now the proud owner of a new viking apron dress. And she picked out some beads for a necklace to go with said dress. I will probably add a new parti-colored kirtle and white under tunic if there is time.
Other projects are full steam ahead, and HRH's cote has been lined and joined, cuffs have been painted with little yellow suns. Tomorrow I will add the placket, buttons, cuffs and seal up the bottom seam. IanRaven's cote need's the same treatment (minus the cuffs, his has tippets already attached). And I am hoping to get HRH's pants sewn and Matt's other legs cut and started sewing.
There will be be a lot of eyelet sewing on the drive up. There are at least 3-4 garments I can think of right off the top of my head that will need them. No interwebs for me tomorrow until I have made a dent in getting stuff done. Workable days, Im down to 1 + 4 nights after work. Fortunately, I have a few days at Pennsic before I actually have to be "doing things". Though war is going to be pretty light on the schedule.
On the packing/getting stuff ready front, we did our big shopping for the trip. Went to restaurant depot and got the soda, gatorade, pickles, charms lollipops, ground beef and 16 lbs of beef strip steak needed for the week. Strip roast has now been butchered into 20, 1 inch steaks which is freezing nicely for Sunday dinner. At the very least, we will eat well. :D
