Coronation

6 Tad, 2 car road trip to Springfield, MA. That in and of itself was a blast. We missed most of the first half of court being lost. Got there in time for Konrad's awarding of his cyphers. Color me surprised when my name was called. Brenwen also presented me with Seamstress to the crown. Color me more surprised. Got to see a really neat coronation ceremony. And then we were free to enjoy the rest of the day until 2nd court.

I got to scooter around and take pictures of fencing, fealty and heavy fighting. I swore fealty as a kingdom officer and presented Her Majesty with the new fencing hood (reversible for her stealthiness). I showed her the new doublet that mostly completed. Hung out with more people. Sat for awhile at the auction table. More pictures and a little more sitting at the auction table.

For second court, I got a good spot in the center isle so that I could take pictures. The nice gentleman behind me parked my scooter out of the way so that people would not trip over it. He asked me if there was a chance that I would get called up. "Absolutely not", I replied (note to self-- d'oh). Seamstresses to the crown were called up, I was not one of them. Then, Sir Jeffrey and I were called up. I had to wait for my scooter to be brought up. I think I was several shades of purple by the time I got to her Majesty. He and I were given Armorer to the Crown awards. Color me really stunned. Baron Ernst was wonderful when he said "It's ok Honey. We all enjoyed the show".

Got to see Donovan get OGR'd. Dropped of Her Majesty's fencing skirt (now extra complete). Had a wonderful conversation with Sir Jeffrey about armoring techniques. He introduced himself by saying "Hi, I'm Jeffrey and since I don't do fencing armor, that leaves you who did her new field armor". I replied " Hi, I'm Alesone and do indeed make rapier armor, and since I don't do heavy armor, I gather you made the other set". It was a really neat conversation about armoring techniques and clothing.

Day was over, dinner consumed and a long reflective trip home. Pictures here.
