Really?

NY has introduced a bill that make it illegal for restaurants to use any salt in food preparation.

NO OWNER OR OPERATOR OF A RESTAURANT IN THIS STATE SHALL USE SALT IN ANY FORM IN THE PREPARATION OF ANY FOOD FOR CONSUMPTION BY CUSTOMERS OF SUCH RESTAURANT, INCLUDING FOOD PREPARED TO BE CONSUMED ON THE PREMISES OF SUCH RESTAURANT OR OFF OF SUCH PREMISES.
Full bill here.

I understand people who have high blood pressure seek to avoid extra salt in their diet.  But people on the opposite end of the BP scale, like me, who actually need salt? This potentially could be very dangerous. Chances are I wouldn't be able to bring salt into a restaurant. If this passes, it looks like I will put NY on my 'do not like' states. I am irate enough that formulating a complete coherent rant escapes me at the moment.
