Thursday- Thanksgiving was great. Spent it with the boy's family. Food was awesome and I didn't have to cook it.

Friday- Cleaned the house and rearranged the living room. The tree is up and I spent most of the day trying to get Zot not to eat the tree. Cooked remaining pot roast for Yule pasties. And started the holiday wrapping.

Saturday- It was all about yule, shopping, and cooking. 5 SCAdians descended upon restaurant depot in the morning. It was like kids at Christmas. I got most of the yule protein/produce shopping done well under budget. Which is good cause I still need to buy fish, possibly beef, and random bottles of alcohol. Then it was on to BJs to pick up smaller quantities of bulk foods, with bonus side trip to Michael's for waffenrok dye.

Home again, home again for oodles of prep. Lissa and Genevra were great prep monkeys! Between us: 20 lbs of cheese grated, 8 loaves of bread baked, 2nd batch of choix paste boiled, 12 batches of pie crust made, and 51 pot pasties assembled. And some how all the food has either found a home here or in people's garage or fridges/freezers. Thanks Ian, Liss and Genevra.

The menu scroll is nothing short of spectacular. Ian has gotten some really great "inside" jokes incorporated into the feast scene. I will have to see about posting some pictures. But the servers are carrying a flamingo, a severed green knight head, and Bubba into the dining room. Miss Mina is in the scene as well as our own head table party crasher. The original is for the head table and color copies will be placed on all the other tables.

Sunday- Sekanjabin... NOM. I have a cinnamon, clove mace and a second with Teavana "to life" white tea. Nom again I say. People may ask why sekanjabin at an English feast. Well once upon a time there were these Romans who invaded Britain. Oxymel is very similar to sekanjabin, with the exception of more honey less white sugar. We are simply going with the more cost effective version as sugar is MUCH cheaper than honey. Rest of the day was spent re-dying waffenrok fabric, wrapping more presents, cutting out fabrics and working on an italian ren (if the sleeves cooperate, then I will have it to wear for Yule, as the overdress is done.). Kitchen/thank you favors are done (hopefully 16 will be enough- will have more on site if not.). Favors for students are done. Some shopping at Target, which was remarkably empty.

Today-low grade fever and massive headache. Was not a good sleeping night last night. I will be working on sleep, sleep and more sleep. Possibly the kitchen schedule and remaining food/prep lists. But nothing having to do with actual food, until the fever breaks.

I haz it. I have used today to get the rest of the paperwork type stuff done for Yule. We have a prep/cook schedule for feast. Posted on my wordpress for those that enjoy the OCDness of schedules and lists. The times are base upon a 5:30 start time for feast. Times will adjust forward if court is late or what not.
