Hood progress

I have added a stag to the Prince's hood. It very much matches his arms now, thanks to Kragore's vector graphics. IanRaven's hood is nearly completed as well. I need to finish sewing on the dags and painting the last of the ermine dots.

Stag - appliqued? Or painted?

Painted. Too many little parts and too little time for applique. Besides, this is an under the mask hood. Poor thing is so going to be abused.

*g* Good girl.

I was about to be insanely jealous of your mad applique skilz.

Not that you couldn't manage with wool felt... but not for that application!

I haz the mad applique skills... I just don't let them out much. I'm too lazy and armor demands that everything be sewn down within an inch of it's life. And its 100% linen. Stuff frays like there is no tomorrow.

Besides, our Prince is a "casual" fencer (and by casual I mean, he picks up a blade for Pennsic), so I really need his armor to stand up to being abused/not seen/stuffed in the bottom of a bag somewhere.

OMG these are gorgeous!

Thank you. The rest of the outfit (the cotes) are turning out kinda neato as well. You should have no problem spotting them on the rapier field (which is the whole point).;-)

Very sharp!

Danke. You need to send me some sprout sizes. I have scrap fabric for tunics and such I have been saving just for her. Modern clothing/dress sizes will work too.

Lovely work! Those dags will be wonderful on the field.
