Most of the weekend has been spent battling the dreaded 'sausage toes' (yes that is in fact the 'medical' term for it). Swelling goes up, swelling goes down. At the moment we are in a down time. I have started working on simple stretching exercises to try to bring back the range of motion. The naproxim sodium helps with the swelling, the compression sock does not. The diliadid takes care of the rest.

Apparently it can take 6 months to a year for the swelling to finally get back to normal. Though walking is suppose to help with that. Ah well... 6 more weeks of not doing that. So we will stick with the tried and true methods. Ice, stretch, drugs, nap/read, repeat. Tomorrow I am going to try to use the diabetic socks. They are suppose to allow swelling to happen without cutting off the circulation. And just for the record, diabetic shoes are not cute or pretty. But they have a wide toe box to accommodate my new foot. Finding shoes I can fence in and that look marginally period are going to be problematic.

I did get some work done on Griff's edging, one of the sooper seekrit projects and the pattern for the flame side of Matt's new pants. Then the sausage toes struck, and I stopped. I also got the camera equipment ready for the flower show. During which I discovered Cannon does not provide hoods for their long lenses (which is asinine, everyone else does, so I didn't think to check that minor detail).

I am so looking forward to vacation and taking oodles of photos. If anyone is looking for me to bring back something from the mouse house, send me a wish list and I will see what I can do (this includes LE pins and such like that)

I remember it was a good six months before I was really comfortable in my usual shoes. And more like a year before I could expect to wear my old dress shoes. And that was just one toe that got sliced, diced, and pinned.

Now, I had an orthopod who didn't trust me any further than he could throw me, and used a dissolving pin. Which took about 9 or 10 months to dissolved. So I couldn't bend at the ball of my foot for about that long. Which had an effect on it.

Have fun and enjoy the International Flower Festival!! If you get a chance, review the new pizzaria in Italy for me!

Thanks for the heads up. Also I am working on the UI reply (I haven't forgotten, I've just been lazy).
