Man food
We watched the Alton Brown Good Eats episode, "Man Food" Monday night. Last night Telescope_merc wanted comfort food, so I made corn dogs. Mmmmmm...corn battered, fried, hot doggie goodness. I deviated from Alton's recipe quite a bit, but it still came out ymmy!
1 box Jiffy corn bread mix. Make according to box. Pour into a tall cup.
1 package of all beef hot dogs. Poke skewers into hot dogs.
Dredge hot dogs in corn starch, remove excess.
Dip hot dogs into batter. Do not get it too thick or it will take a while to fry.
Pre-heat oil to 375
Fry until golden brown. They float so turn 1/2 way through.
They come out light flaky and better than carnival food.
