Armoring hood- HRH Gryffifth

The first armoring hood has been completed. My first dip into 14th century head wear. Also the first time I have used a Royal as a test project for someone else (usually its the other way around, but the second hood is actually more complicated). But the kinks have been worked out and the patter refined. Project highlights:

1. Side 1 1/2 of green/yellow stripes, 1/2 yellow and black crenelations.
2. The hood is reversible, with side 2 in solid black.
3. Crenelations, gores and edging hand sewn. main hood seam lines are machine sewn.

I bow to your drafting skills at combining gores and stripes! Keen!

Ian makes a good model. :)

I hope so. The pattern is technically based on the hoods he wears. And the second more cmplex hood is his too.

Ian wants one now doesn't he?

This is the prototype for the one he wants, yes.

The stripes are fashioned of 100% pure WIN, which is not an easy fabric to work with. :D

Thanks. I am really starting to get the hang of the stripe thing. Helps that The Boy wears a lot of them. Yay German. ;-)

Ian's was suppose to be first. HRH is the guinea pig. Ian's is a degree or 3 more complicated in the dag department.

BTW, cuffs nearly done (will be completed this weekend). Then on to the shirt!
